Dashcams
The installation of dashcams in cars is allowed as long as they do not obstruct the driver's field of vision, and the driver's attention remains focused on traffic and the road.However, there are concerns regarding privacy. The Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) recommends refraining from using dashcams on public grounds as they constitute video surveillance on public grounds and may violate the principles of data protection law.
Other legal experts view this differently; the legal situation is currently unclear. However, it is certain that the publication of dashcam recordings where individuals or vehicle license plates are identifiable can infringe upon the personal rights of others and may be addressed through civil proceedings.
